Mike “gordo16” Gorodinsky is a regular in the $25/$50 PLO games at PokerStars. Gordon was first spotted at HighStakesDB in January of 2011, when he started tangling with some of the best PLO players in the world such as Viktor “Isildur1“ Blom and Jared “harrington25“ Bleznick.
One of Gorodinsky’s sessions against Blom didn’t go so well after he dropped $159k to the Swede. Of course, gordo16 has had plenty of upswings since showing up on HighStakesDB as well, including one three-day span in early January where he earned over $152k.
Gorodinsky’s biggest winning hand took place on January 7th, 2011 in a $25/$50 game of PLO with Blom. There was some heavy preflop action as both players re-raised five times to build the pot to $8,100. Gorodinsky quickly made a $8,100 c-bet on a flop of 4c-Qh-Js, while Blom quickly called. The turn card of 5s brought a $24,298 raise from gordo16, and Blom pushed his remaining stack of $12,268 in. The river was 4h, and gordo16 took down a $48,335 pot with a pair of aces versus Blom’s jacks.
Not long before Gorodinsky was winning huge hands from some of the best players in the world, he was grinding in $5/$10 and $10/$20 PLO games during the fall of 2009. Other poker tracking sites show Gordon16 reaching both $10k and $100k in winnings in October of 2009. Just one month later, he hit his career peak of $318k before going on a lengthy downswing the following month.
Up until HighStakesDB picked him up, Gordon experienced a number of wild swings until winning $155k on January 7th, 2011 - the same day he won the huge hand vs. Isildur1. However, since that time, he has hit a huge skid that’s left his winnings at -$209k.
