Vaga_Lion is both the PokerStars and Full Tilt screen name for English high stakes pro Rob Akery. Twenty five year old Bristolian Akery took his nickname from the name he used a former expert player of Age of Empires where he went under the name "vagabond lion". Rob started playing poker aged 18 after receiving a $5 transfer into his account from a friend. After taking his roll as low as $0.50 he gradually built it back up at first playing limit games before eventually switching to NLHE and is still playing from the same roll today.

For the past four years has been a regular at the high stakes tables at both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. His preferred stakes tend to be $25/$50 NLHE or PLO although he is also frequently seen playing the highest games around and has played as high as $500/$1000.

Akery has also nearly $1 million in live tournament winnings, his latest big score being $134k for a 2nd place finish at the 2000 Euro NLHE event at the EPT Grand Final in Madrid in May this year.
