And in poker we can do better because we can explain it so that they follow most of it!
@vdub310 I understand the idea but I think hole cards have to stay. Poker becomes a lot more boring for people to watch without them.

K I'm done. probably.
I like them as people too! Just realized this tweet might've implied otherwise :) https://t.co/klJPnyRB88
I really like learning more about the players as people too, both w/ prerecorded footage and when announcers talk about them. I'd like more!
I really like every single person on the broadcasting team as announcers/analysts. I just think the approach should adapt to the game.
... & these factors CAN be advanced. Many (not all) elements of advanced poker can be explained to beginners. It's supposed to impress them!
I think you can discuss the factors a player is weighing, reasons he might have for each play, and often avoid picking the "right" play...
Obv we want to allow the average fan to follow what's going on, but I still think that you can be advanced/accurate AND impressed by play...
I don't have a solution. These are just some thoughts after watching. I think the broadcasting team did a good job, all things considered.
This is an inherent disadvantage for poker broadcasting compared to almost all other types of competition, and there isn't an easy solution.
In football, an announcer can criticize a play without implying he can do better. We watch with the announcers in awe of the elite talent.
There's a fine line between good/factual hand analysis & framing things such that the players can either make the 'standard' or 'bad' play.
I believe some thinking needs to be done about how to adapt poker broadcasting to the way the game is these days. 1/x
@BennyG444 Yup. Stick to o8. I guess Q6 must be a bad hand in that game?
@BennyG444 @themouthmatusow ummmmm... you mean when he raised with the best hand, Benny? #value
@FelipeMojave @SanFranRush @saopaulomets @gpl great game, man!
@grinder881 @SanFranRush I'm sorry... I didn't mean to offend with that expression. I definitely don't consider myself a real hero.
False alarm :( Apparently I made 14 videos in one day in 2014 and forgot about it. #TooOldToTopItNow https://t.co/BC9PGi8lSV

@fe1ix83 @RunItOnce I could see it causing some extra tilt, but I think for me the extra alertness makes it a net positive.
