After starting the final table as the short stack, Tommy Vedes staged a remarkable comeback to end up taking his second WPT crown last night in Hollywood, Florida. It was a case of "last to arrive, last to leave" as Vedes was officially the last player to register at 12 noon on the second day of the event and in three short days he took down the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown for the title, a $25k seat at the WPT Bellagio and $780k.

After 5 days of play the final table is set for the $10k WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown and Joe Serock not only held on to the lead he held at the end of day 4 but increased it substantially to end the day the dominant chip leader - having more than double the chips of his nearest rival with his 3.14m chips dwarfing John Dolan's 1.45 million.

Allan Le outlasted some of the poker’s toughest players including Phil Ivey, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, John Juanda, Johnny Chan and Joe Hachem to win the Asia's richest poker tournament (buy-in USD $129,000) yesterday. Le earned HKD $13,080,000 (USD $1.7 million) for his first place finish.

After two days and ten levels of play at WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in Hollywood, Florida the initial 290 entrants have been whittled down to 102 as we enter day 3. Sitting at the top of the pile currently is Clyde Hinton with 263,000 chips withe the ClubWPT player of the day, Tommy Vedes sitting in second place on 232k chips.

Yesterday saw the start of the second annual $10,000 buy in WPT Seminole Hark Rock Showdown in Hollywood, Florida. The glitzy event is expected to offer a prize pool around the $3 million mark (as of last night there were over 280 players registered with a few more expected before resumption of play today) - notably down on last years $4.1 million but still one of the biggest prize pools in the WPT tour.

The EPT Berlin 2012 Main Event (buy-in €5.300) is now underway. A total of 745 players participated in the tournament this year, and 329 players will come back today for day 2.

According to various sources, Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake will be starring in a new poker movie, called "Runner, Runner". The movie is written by "Rounders" authors David Levien and Brian Koppelmann and will take place in "the world of illegal online gambling."

After four days of competition the 396 entrants to this years WPT Vienna has been whittled down to the final six who will come back tomorrow to battle it out on the final table. The current chip leader (and by a substantial margin) is Serbian player Ognjen Sekularac who, with 3.9 million chips has a 1.4 million advantage over his nearest rival Morten Christensen who ends the day in second place just as he did yesterday.

After sitting among the chip leaders since day 2 it was Danish player Morten Christensen who managed to hold his form and take home the coveted WPT Vienna championship today, along with a $410k winners cheque and entry to next months $25,000 WPT Championship at the Bellagio.
