German tennis legend Boris Becker has signed a sponsorship deal with partypoker.
Just last week, partypoker introduced Sam Trickett to their team and now Becker, who has previously been sponsored by PokerStars will also be joining the team.
The German tennis star has been playing big live events since 2008 and has managed to cash only for a little over $111,000 - not a huge score when you deduct buy-ins. However, Becker believes poker is a game of skill and admits being equally competitive at the poker table as he was on the tennis court:
“I am equally competitive at the poker table as I was on the tennis court, so I’m really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world. I learnt to play poker a long time ago; it’s a game of skill and perseverance, so I’m hoping to use my experience on the tennis court to my advantage. partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and I look forward to playing online as well as live at the partypoker MILLIONS in April, so see you there!”, Becker said.
Partypoker has already lauched their first promotion with Becker, called "Beat the Ace", where partypoker players will get the chance to play in four $5,000 freerolls during December. The overall winner will then get to play Becker heads up live in Germany for up to $25,000.
