Maurice Hawkins Wins 8th WSOPC Gold Ring & 3rd Main Event This Year

Maurice Hawkins made WSOP Circuit headlines earlier this year when he won back-to-back main events in April in the Iowa and Cherokee tour stops. He's now done it again after scooping his 3rd Main Event of 2016, which also gives him his 4th Gold ring of the year, and his 8th overall.

Hawkins, who has played on the live tour for over a decade now has really stepped up his game over the past couple of years and after winning his 3rd WSOPC Main Event he now joins Blair Hinkle and Chris Ferguson as only the third player to do so - and he did it all in the space of seven months.

His win, at the West Palm Beach main event last weekend also enabled him to become the first player in the tour's history to earn over $1m solely from WSOPC events, his $95,921 win put his total WSOPC winnings at $1,011,946. He now stands at joint second for the most WSOPC gold rings won alongside Chris Reslock, Valentin Vornicu, and Ari Engel. Only Alex Masek with nine is ahead of him.

Outside of the WSOPC Hawkins best major performances include a 4th place finish in last years WPT Borgata main event for $220k, and a 9th place finish at 2014's WSOP Millionaire Maker for over $128k.

For his latest victory, Hawkins will once again be invited back with a seat into the Global Casino Championship $1m bracelet year end event.
