Big Changes Made to 8-Game Mix on PokerStars

PokerStars announced recently a big change to the No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha rounds of 8-Game.

Several players who are 8-Game Mix regulars on PokerStars, received an email from PokerStars earlier this week, where the site informed, that No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha rounds of 8-Game will now have a betting cap of 40 big blinds:

You are receiving this email because you recently played 8-Game Mix on PokerStars. From November 21, PokerStars will be applying a betting cap of 40 big blinds to the No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha rounds of 8-Game. This change has been frequently requested by mixed game players and is being made to prevent the big bet rounds from dominating the mix of games. PokerStars implemented the changes already on Monday. 8-Game Mix on PokerStars plays a rotation of No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud Hi/Lo, Seven Card Stud, Razz, Limit Hold'em, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo and 2-7 Triple Draw. In recent times, the game format has gained much popularity especially among high-stakes players.

According to PokerStars, the change was made to "prevent the big bet rounds" from dominating the 8-Game Mix.
