Mike Sexton Chip Leader at WPT Montreal Final Table

Long time World Poker Tour commentator and Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton will be leaving the commentating to someone else today as he has successfully navigated his way through to the final table of the WPT Montreal Main Event final table. Not only that, the WSOP bracelet holder will also take a chip leader into the final day.

Sexton does have a couple of quality players alongside him in the final six. Jake Schwartz has already cashed in three WPT Main Events in the last two months, following on from this summers WSOP where he cashed 8 times. However, Schwartz will have his work cut out as he starts the final table in 5th place with 1.55m chips.

The other player with over a million dollars in live tourney earnings is Israel's Ilan Boujenah who has nearly $1.6m in tourney winnings, and has come close to a WPT title before, finishing 3rd at WPT Amnéville back in 2010. Boujenah starts in 4th spot with 2.29m chips.

The relatively unknown Benny Chen is in third with 2.48, and the equally unknown local girl Ema Zajmovic closest to Sexton's 6.215m with 5.385m. Between them, Chen and Zajmovic have less than $35k in combined live winnings as compard to Sexton's $5.9m. Completing the line up and starting as short stack with 1.52m is Hungary's Nadir Lalji.

The players have made it this far in the $3,850 buy-in tournament from a starting field of 648 players. Up top is $317,896 and membership of the WPT Champion's Club. The club will certainly be gaining a new member tonight that's for sure as none of the final tablist's have ever won a WPT event.

Play starts at 4pm EST and will be streamed with a half hour delay at WPT.com for anyone who fancies watching Sexton at work as he guns for his first WPT tilte.
