Weekly Highstakes Update: Patrik "Fake Love888" Antonius Wins $307k
The biggest winner from last week's highstakes games over at PokerStars was none other than Finnish legend Patrik "Fake Love888" Antonius who ended the week with a $307,728 profit after topping the daily leaderboard on three separate occasions.
After a $26k loss on Sunday, Antonious began his upswing on Monday when he played three sessions of $1k/$2k FLO8 against Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky. After taking a quick six-figures from Sulsky in their first 20 minute session, Antonius then lost $72k back in the follow-up match, before winning another $70k after an up-and-down three hour afternoon battle. In total Antoniud won $93.4k on Monday, which you can read more about in our daily report from last week.
Antonius rode his winning wave as he topped the daily leaderboard once again on Tuesday, once again finding success at the FLO8 tables.
On this occasion it was Russian mixed-game specialist Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn who was on the wrong end of Antonius table, with the Finn at one point reaching +$180k during the session. A small comeback from joiso left Antonius up $129.3k for the day, putting his two day tally up to $233k.
Antonius was absent from the online tables for the next couple of days, returning on Friday for yet another table topping session, although this time he made his money at the $1k/$2k 8-Game tables where he played against the likes of fellow Finns Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro and Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies, as well as Russian playersTimofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov, and Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn, US pro Daniel "w00ki3z." Cates, and French high roller Alex "BiatchPeople" Luneau. Luneau also did well in the games, winning $51.7k. This helped the French pro to third overall for the week with a $75.5k profit.
Antonius played a breakeven game for the first couple of hours, before hitting a +$100k upswing in the next hour or so, mainly at the expense of Lrslzk, who ended the session down $73k, although a small comeback from Kelpuro meant that Antonius ended the day up $85.1k.
Antonius has been absent from PokerStars once again since Friday but his three big wins were enough to put him way out in front of the week's biggest winners, with his $307k profit.
The only other six-figure winner last week was NLHE player hhecklen who enjoyed several medium wins to end the week up $122,130 from just under 2k hands played over 41 table sessions.
The biggest single day winner last week was Dani "supernova9" Stern, who won $175k on Monday at the PLO tables, with the vast majority of his profit coming from a series of heads-up matches at the $100/$200 tables against Trueteller. However, Stern wasn't able to maintain his form throughout the week and ended up just $26.7k by the end of the weekend.
