Daniel "w00ki3z." Cates Wins $147k in Mixed Games

As reported yesterday, Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn had already won over $200k from Viktor "Isildur1" Blom in the early hours of yesterday morning, although those games were a continuation of previous games from earlier in the evening. The biggest winner from the games which started from scratch yesterday was Daniel "w00ki3z." Cates, who earned $147k between yesterday afternoon and the early hours of this morning.

Cates played at the $400/$800 8-Game tables for a little under ten hours, from mid-afternoon yesterday through to the early hours of this morning. The American pro won at seven of the eight tables he played, with his biggest win of $94k coming from a five hour session at table Lova II where he played against Isildur1, joiso, Trueteller, and gordo16. The biggest pot from these sessions also came from this table.

Isildur1 and joiso get it all in with top pair and gutshot straight draws in this $100/$200 PLO round. Isildur1 is the lucky one who hits makes his straight on the turn and takes this $70.5k pot

Much of Cates later winnings came from playing heads-up against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom, who has not had much joy at the tables since his big $457k win from a few days ago. Blom is still up over $100k since his win but will need a good win soon if he is to continue playing in the big games.
