Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen On Poker Life Podcast
A young Jeans89 shows you the money
Highstakes fans have been spoiled for choice with Joe Ingram's recent speight of lengthy nosebleed player podcasts; in the last few weeks alone we've been treated to pods featuring the likes of Alex "Kanu7" Millar, Ike "Hollywood" Haxton, Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz, Aaron "aejones" Jones, Jay "Krantz" Rosenkrantz and Brian "tsarrast" Rast. The month looks likely to end on a high for the Poker Life Podcast, after another top "online conversation", this time with 26 year old PLO end boss Jens "Jeans89" Kyllönen.
The podcast started well with Jens proving that he is also a hair-styling end boss, turning his post-shower "bed-head" thatch of unruly locks into a slick, supermodel standard creation in around 10 seconds - much to the amazement and genuine awe of Chicago Joey. In fact, Joe looked slightly crestfallen as he realised his own, very much above average hair game had been insta-crushed.
During the pod Jens talks at length about his new all-consuming passion in the stockmarket and investing - he has recently gone back to school to learn more about investing and is enjoying the challenge of a new potential career in which he can find edges and seek value. He also confirms his baller life as he chats about contemplating purchasing a €4,000,000 Helsinki apartment, his joint ownership (with a Finnish rapper) of a 53ft yacht which he enjoys partying on before parking it outside nightclubs, and his decision to part with $1m of his own cash to buy-in to the first "Big One for One Drop" tournament back in 2012 on the back on a 14 month $6.5m upswing.
One slight disappointment was his admission that he'd cancelled his $200,000 ticket to be one of the first non-astronaut space travellers, although his reasons for backing out seemed reasonable, namely that the operation seemed fairly behind schedule, and a little amateurish. Considering one of the two proposed tourist spaceships crashed on a test flight last year, killing one of the two pilots onboard, we can't exactly blame Jens for his decision!
Jens also talks about the infamous incident at EPT Barcelona a couple of years ago when his room was broken into and a trojan installed on his laptop. He says that rather than helping, PokerStars in fact did all they could to brush the incident under the carpet.
Other highlights include tales of drunken nights out with the legendary Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies, and Jens week staying with Viktor "Isildur1" Blom at his London apartment during an EPT event. During his stay Jens said he got to rail Blom losing a big pot to Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene before announcing, whilst tilted, "f**k, I'm gonna take this guy for a million now", and promptly "winning nearly a million" from him whilst, in Jens words "he was playing so amazingly well". A little look through my records would suggest that this would be March 10th 2013 (EPT London took place March10-16 that year) when Isildur1 won $1.3m in a single day, with $725k of that coming from the Tollerene match which was played at the deep with antes $400/$800 PLO tables. I just want to start off by saying I'm a big fan of jeans so I was excited to see that joeingram had got him to do a podcast however, it was not the best pod cast iv seen. Joeingram has become very boring over the recent months so there's no need to watch. To be interviewing jeans should have been more better. The guy looks like he was in his bathroom during the podcast, very boring. Joeingram needs to fix up and start making his podcasts fun. Talk about money, millionaire lifestyle, we wana know about the car's these guys drive, the parties, show us around the houses etc show us the car's these guys drive. Fix up papi!!
