New Interview With Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz Online

Mikael Thuritz talks about his recent WCOOP victory in a recent video interview

Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz has been one of the most consistent highstakes winners in online poker history. He has been around the virtual felt since 2002, and has been a big winner for over a decade, playing largely on european sites and networks. He's also played over the last few years on Full Tilt and PokerStars as "punting-peddler" and "ChaoRen160". Thuritz was also one of the earliest pro players to make it big in Macau and has spent a lot of the last few years in the "Las Vegas of Asia".

PokerTube presenter, Rikard Aberg recently caught up with Mikael with a 50 minute video interview, which should be of interest to any high stakes fans out there - especially as there aren't too many interviews available with Thuritz out there in English!

During the interview, the affable Swedish pro talks about how he has switched his focus of late to PLO (Thuritz was initially a NLHE player but over the last few years has earned a reputation as one of the most feared mixed-game players on the planet), and how much he is enjoying the challenge, stating that he has noticed a marked improvement in his PLO play over the last few weeks.

He also talks about playing against GTO players, and against stats studying players in general. Thuritz admits that he will have to take more of an interest in stats if he continues to play ZOOM PLO, as the numbers  gathered against players amass very quickly and he will be at a distinct disadvantage against the HUD players if he isn't aware at least of his own statistics.

Thuritz also talks a little about his time in Macau, saying that the usual game was $1k/$2k NLHE (US $), but in recent years have risen to an eye-watering $4k/$8k, somewhat pricing him out of the biggest games. Nevertheless, he intends to travel East at some point in the next month or so.

He also discusses his recent WCOOP win in the prestigious $10k HU NLHE event. Thuritz won $196k, beating Russian highstakes NLHE regular forhayley in the final match.
