Isildur1 Comes Unstuck as PLO Specialists Reap the Rewards
Sauce1234 was the biggest winner in yesterday's games, taking close to $400k from Isildur1 at Full Tilt's PLO tables
A bad day for Isildur1 who dropped over $900k at Full Tilt's high stakes tables
The inevitable huge downswing from Viktor "Isildur1" Blom came yesterday as his stubborn refusal to quit while he's ahead took hold and he once again played and played until he'd lightened his bankroll and filled hisopponent's pockets with nearly a million dollars of his hard won cash.
The biggest benefactors of Blom's downswing were PLO specialists, Ben "Sauce1234" Sulsky, "Doorbread", and Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene.
Sauce1234 was the day's biggest winner. He won $398.2k from just an hour and three quarters play heads-up against Isildur1 at the $250/$500 PLO tables. It was actually a very even match for the most part, and in fact 85% of the way through the match Isildur1 was up over $100k. However, the final 100 or so hands saw Sauce1234 really hammer his opponent with a combination of good play and running very well (over $100k above EV for the match) to end with
his near +$400k score.
The Sauce match was not the first big PLO loss Isildur1 suffered. He played a much longer 4 table heads-up match against Doorbread earlier in the day dropping another $300k or so. The pair played for over 7 hours, with the vast majority played out heads-up, with a little early three way action including Bttech86. During heads-up play, Isildur1 had by far the best of the early action, taking a +$400k lead over his opponent. However, Doorbread made a huge near $1m comeback, shooting him up well over $500 before a slight downswing towards the end of the match meant he ended the day up $332.9k. All the day's biggest pots also came from this encounter:
Isildur1 is actually a slight favourite on the flop with his open-ended straight draw and flush draw. However, not only does he not catch up with Doorbread's flopped set of 6's on either run of the turn and river, but in fact falls further behind as Doorbread fills up on both occasions to take this $237k pot
Doorbread bluffs the river with a blocker to the straight but Isildur1 had turned the nuts to take this $204.4k pot
Once again Doorbread has blockers to the straight and bluffs the river, this time Isildur1 calls with just two pairs to take this $198.5k pot
The third big PLO winner was Ben "Bttech86" Tollerene who won a total of $243.6k from just 220 early morning hands of $250/$500 PLO playing aginst Isildur1 and Doorbread. His biggest win of $170.7k came from just 43 hands at table Lillis, with all his profit coming from Isildur1 who dropped $184.5k at the table.
The fourth and final six-figure winner from yesterday was Kagome Kagome, who also profitted from Isildur1's downswing. In his final confrontation of the day he took on the German limit pro at $1k/$2k 2-7 Triple Draw in a 3 hour session which resulted in a $160.7k win for Kagome Kagome.
