Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond Winning Big at Triple Draw
Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond is up close to 1/3 of a million bucks since late last night
After suffering losses at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables earlier in the week, online legend Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond has hit back well in the last day or so. He ended yesterday's games up close to $160k and is currently up roughly the same today.
Galfond's profits came from sessions of $1k/$2k 2-7 Triple Draw playing heads-up againt German pro SanIker, his conqueror from a few days ago. In a one hour late night session, Galfond took $134.4k from SanIker at table Unit. After just a two minute hiatus, the pair resumed hostilities at table Begin, where they played for another three hours and forty minutes. This session was a little more even, but the US pro still ended up adding to his profits, winning a further $25.4k from 368 hands, making his day end total profit $159.8k
As I write this, Galfond is up even more so far today, and is up over $160k playing at the same limits against Alexander "PostflopAction" Kostritsyn. The pair have been playing for around 8 hours and have put in around 1,000 hands so far. We'll update you on the final results tomorrow.
There was another six-figure winner yesterday as Cort "thecortster" Kibler-Melby won $130.1k, again from Full Tilt's 2-7 Triple Draw tables, where he enjoyed winning sessions at the $300/$600, $500/$1000, $1k/$2k, and $2k/$4k limits. Around half of his profits came from a series of heads-up matches againt Viktor "Isildur1" Blom at the limits up to and including $1k/$2k. The other half came from just 31 hands played against Trueteller at the $2k/$4k tables in a twenty minute mid-afternoon session.
The biggest winner over at PokerStars yesterday was Alex "BiatchPeople" Luneau, who won $66.1k, with over $65k of this coming from a 90 minute lunchtime $500/$1000 2-7 Triple Draw match played against Rami "arbianight" Boukai.
