Crunch time approaching for JRB
Last week we brought you the latest on former Full Tilt CEO Ray Bitar’s $40m forfeiture case, but lacked details on the reported heart failure that kept him out of jail in 2011. Since then, Allen Cunningham has chimed in on 2+2 with some more information on the Black Friday villain’s current situation.
“To all the conspiracy theorists: according to my sources, Ray Bitar is unlikely to live more than a couple years and is nearly penniless. He didn’t get away with anything”, said Cunningham.
“I feel like that’s not getting away with it in a karmic way at least. I would trade places with any of his victims over him. Some people still haven’t got paid and it’s mostly Ray Bitar’s fault, but he isn’t benefitting from it.”
As one of the former Full Tilt “Red Pros”, one would expect Cunningham to have legitimate sources where Bitar is concerned, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
What remains slightly strange however, is that Bitar was said to be circling the drain and in dire need of a heart transplant all of four years ago. It seems bizarre that he’d survive a further six years in that unaddressed condition.
Can JRB Lose 6lbs in 6 days?
Jean Robert Bellande’s $70,000 weight loss bet is reaching an exciting climax, with the self-confessed broke grinder now needing to shed just shy of 6 pounds before the end of October to grasp victory.
“Weighed in at 250.8lbs this morning. #brokediet”, Bellande said on Twitter yesterday.
The original bet was that Bellande had to get down from 287lbs to 245lbs before November 1st, so yesterday he needed to lose at a rate of one pound per day, which he has been keeping up successfully since October 22nd.
After what was a terrible summer for JRB at the tables, he should be able to claw some cash back from this position. He’ll just be hoping that whoever has his action (reportedly Bobby Baldwin) is in better shape to cough up than Mike Matusow was when Ted Forrest turned himself into skeletor.
We’ll bring you up to speed with the result of this bet at the end of the month.
