Blom Bounces Back With a $1m Win
Isildur1's prayers were answered last night as he went on to record a +$1m session
After a downswing which had seen Viktor "Isildur1" Blom go from a $2m winner in January to more than a $1m loser for 2014, the enigmatic Full Tilt Pro has stopped the rot with an impressive $1m haul in a 17 hour session which began early yesterday evening and ended not long ago.
The first part of Blom's road to recovery began when he sat down against Carlooo13 at the $500/1000 FLO8 tables, a limit four times lower than the stakes the young Swede is used to playing at. Blom's record against Carlooo13 has not been particularly impressive but since last night he will have more than redressed the balance.
After winning $31.7k from a two hour heads-up session at the $500/$1000 tables, Blom went on to add another $26.4k at the $1k/$2k tables before finally arriving at the $2k/$4k tables.
From here, Isildur1 went on a five hour upswing which put him up a little over $800k against Carlooo13 at around 2.15am. Despite making a c.$280k comeback over the next couple of hours, Blom ended the session with another mini-upswing to leave the table up $640k, and the day up $698.6k.
While the FLO8 session was in progress, Isildur1 started playing at a table of $500/$1000 CAP PLO in a match which started post midnight (therefore the results will appear on tomorrow's results page), playing against Gus Hansen, Bttech86, trex313, and ronnyr37617. At one point Blom was up over $200k at the table, but waned towards the end of the three hour session to end up with a $91k profit. It was during this period of time where Blom nearly hit the $1m profit barrier, reaching $970k before hitting a downswing.
Things started to go wrong from the Swedish pro as he opened up new tables of FLO8 against Carlooo13 and PLO tables against Bttech86.
Carlooo13 made a great comeback to win a $277k session against Isildur1, while Bttech86 won a $160k heads-up session of $500/$1000 CAP PLO.
At his lowest point, Blom was up just over $400k just a couple of hours after nearly hitting the million mark.
However, things soon picked up for Isildur1. While making a comeback against Bttech86 in a subsequent two table session of $500/$1000 CAP PLO he got a little revenge on Carlooo13, winning $165k after the pair switched tables again.
The PLO games were very swingy, with Blom building up a good lead on numerous occasions before Bttech86 fired back to take a six figure advantage of his own.
It was a massive $500k upswing during just thirty minutes play which really made Blom's session, however, as between 10am and 10.30am he went from a $518k profit to a $1.02m profit, winning endless maximum $80k pots from Tollerene.
When Tollerene finally quit the tables, Blom closed down a recent table of FLO8 he'd opened against KPR16, gave him a "gg" and left the tables over $1m better off than when he'd sat down the previous evening.
