WSOP Main Event Day 3 Recap - D'Alesandro Leads with Wolpert and Selbst in Hot Pursuit

Dave DAlesandro leads going into Day 4 with 1.1m chips
After a lucky double up Vanessa Selbst is up among the chip leaders

With Day 4 of the WSOP Main Event recently underway, let's take a quick look back at Day 3. Going into the fourth days play we see four hopefuls who have crossed the magic 1 million mark, and currently leading the way is Dave D'Alesandro with 1.1 million chips. We also have a WSOP bracelet holder high up on the leader board with 2009's $10k Heads Up Champion Leo Wolpert in 4th place with a touch over 1 million chips. Also just outside the top ten going into Day 4 is two time bracelet winner Vanessa Selbst who sits on 814k chips after a lucky double up when she looked to be out of the door pushed her over the 500k mark which really set her on a roll.

Selbst tried to push her opponent off his hand courtesy of a turn shove when she just held a 10 high flush draw and a gutshot. Her opponent quickly looked her up showing a flopped set of 4's and Selbst looked to be heading out of this years Main Event only to see her flush complete on the river and put her on 540k chips.

With over 1,000 players eliminated through the day we see 720 competitors returning for Day 4. Big names to fall over the course of Day 3 include; Ben Lamb, Phil Galfond, Barry Greenstein, Brian "$tinger 88" Hastings, Nick Schulman, Faraz Jaka, Shane Warne, Sammy Farha, Abe "EazyPeazy" Mosseri, Jerry Yang, Peter Eastgate, Pius Heinz, Ben "Ben86" Tollerene, Jake Cody and Farzad Bonyadi. Plenty of big names are back today with well above average stacks however including; Sorel Mizzi (738k), Vivek Rajkumar (678k), Jason Sommerville (638k), Marcel Luske (602k), Shaun Deeb (598k), JP Kelly (506k), Antonio Esfandiari (485k), Maria Ho (382k) and Johnny Chan (374k). Also sitting on a decent stack was the days early chip leader Gaelle Baumann who ended the day on 599k chips. Other big names still around who will need to put their feet on the gas today to progress any further include; Joseph Cheong, Liv Boeree, Erick Lindgren, Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser, JC Tran, Huck Seed, Kyle Julius, Daniel Negreanu and Marvin Rettenmaier.

With the bubble set at 666 players we should see it burst fairly early on in the day and the real fun can begin.
