Thursday was really not a god day for Tom Dwan. I don’t care how much money you have made in your career, something like that has to sting a little bit. However, we have seen Dwan make comebacks after bad periods before, so he is probably one player who is well equipped to handle such a downswing.

Durrrr’s losses was almost equally split between Hold’em and PLO. On the hold’em side, it was Urindanger and OMGClayAiken who did most of the damage, while Zigmund almost single handily took down the loot in Pot Linit Omaha. Not surprisingly, these three opponents figure at the top of the day’s leader board while Patrik Antonius, true to form, follow closely thereafter.

What was quite surprising, was that on a day with such big swings, there were not many big pots. In fact, there was only one pot exceeding $200K. A miniscule amount by today’s standards.... Incidentally, this pot was almost twice as big as the second largest hand of the day.

Patrik Antonius flops a set and OMGClayAiken turns two pair, costing him almost $150K in the process.

It seems like Qx in spades is a lucky hand for Antonius these days, at least when his opponents has this holding. Yesterday he called down kingsofcards with ace high, and today it was OMGClayAiken who fell victim to the curse of this hand. There is not really a lot to the play of the hand. OMGClayAiken mixes it up a bit preflop by 3-betting Q3 of spades, and gets a cooler first when he hits top pair against Antonius’ set, and when he turns two pair, he loses any opportunity to get away from the hand.
